This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on storyfuze.com, why we use them, how long they last, and how you can change your mind at any time. It complements the Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It lets the site remember things between page loads — that you are signed in, which language you use, or that you have already answered the cookie banner. Similar technologies, such as pixels, local storage and browser SDKs, work differently but serve comparable purposes, and this policy covers those too.

2. Categories we use

Strictly necessary. Required for the site and the application to work: keeping your session alive, protecting forms against cross-site request forgery, balancing load, and remembering your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off and do not require consent, because without them the Service you asked for cannot be delivered.

Functional. Remember preferences that improve your experience but are not essential, such as interface language, theme, and dismissed notices. Set only after you accept.

Analytics. Help us understand which pages and features are used, where people get stuck, and whether a change improved anything. Deployed through Google Tag Manager, and only after you accept.

Marketing. Measure the effectiveness of our advertising and let us reach relevant audiences. This is where the Meta Pixel sits. Set only after you accept.

3. The cookies we set

Name Provider Category Purpose Duration Type
ifs_cookie_consent_v1 StoryFuze (first-party) Strictly necessary Stores your answer to the cookie banner (accepted or rejected) so we know which categories may load. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, set on the parent domain so the choice is shared across subdomains. 180 days HTTP cookie
ifs_cookie_consent_ts StoryFuze (first-party) Strictly necessary Timestamp of your consent decision, kept as a simple audit record. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax. 180 days HTTP cookie
PHPSESSID StoryFuze (first-party) Strictly necessary Keeps you signed in and links your requests to your session. Session HTTP cookie
GTM-P3K4MF4N (container) Google Ireland Limited Analytics Google Tag Manager container. It is not itself a cookie: it is a script that loads only after consent and manages the measurement tags below. n/a Script/container
_ga Google Analytics Distinguishes visitors so we can count unique users. Loaded via the container above. 13 months HTTP cookie
_ga_<container-id> Google Analytics Maintains the analytics session state. 13 months HTTP cookie
_fbp Meta Platforms Ireland Limited Marketing Meta Pixel — identifies browsers for ad delivery and conversion measurement. 90 days HTTP cookie
_fbc Meta Platforms Ireland Limited Marketing Meta Pixel — stores the click identifier when you arrive from a Meta ad, so a conversion can be attributed. 90 days HTTP cookie

Exact names and durations set by Google and Meta are controlled by those providers and may change; the table reflects the configuration at the "Last updated" date.

4. Consent banner

The first time you visit, a banner asks you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary category loads until you choose — Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel are held back until consent is recorded. Your choice is stored in ifs_cookie_consent_v1 for 180 days, after which we will ask again. Rejecting does not limit access to any part of the Service.

5. Changing or withdrawing your consent

Select Manage cookie preferences below (or Cookie settings in the footer of any page) to reopen the banner and change your answer. Withdrawing consent stops further collection immediately; cookies already set by Google or Meta are removed by clearing your browser's cookies for this site. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge all provide per-site controls), and opt out of Meta's ad personalisation in your Meta account's ad preferences and of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in from working.

6. Third-party links

Pages you reach from our site, and the channels you connect for publishing, set their own cookies under their own policies. We have no control over those and recommend reading their notices.

7. Changes to this policy

When we add, remove or change a cookie, we update this page and the "Last updated" date. Where the change concerns a non-essential category, we will ask for your consent again.
